1000 Tibetans

She arrived to Calgary at 8:00 p.m. on a cold March night to a welcoming crowd of Tibetans, bright lights of video cameras, and the many questions of multiple reporters.

 

Yeshi Choedon, is a 28-year-old Tibetan immigrant from a small village in the Arunachal Pradesh province of India. With 26 Tibetan refugees, Choedon immigrated to Canada.

Lack of taxes means cuts for agriculture, says former MLA

City report says 2013 summer flood hindered Calgary’s whistle-blower program

Released February 10 of this year, the 2013 annual report for the City of Calgary's whistle-blower program states that in 2013 there were 57 reports submitted to the program, 37 fewer than the previous year. This is a deficit that the report attributes to the summer flooding in Calgary.

Animal Activists are 'weeds' to Rodeo Lifestyle- An Opinion Piece

As spring blossoms over the province, it brings hope and excitement for most. For myself, spring brings the rodeo season and with that blooms something most rodeo enthusiasts have grown to detest. Maturing to full growth by July just in time for Stampede Week, the naïve rodeo protester grows in numbers. Like most pesky and annoying weeds in the prairies, they are one species I would like to stomp out completely.
